The Northern Virginia Chapter of NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Properties) was chartered in 1980 by a group of local developers. Governed by a Board of Directors and Executive Committee, which is elected annually, Northern Virginia NAIOP's professional staff is located in Alexandria, Virginia. With over 54 chapters in North America, the Northern Virginia Chapter is one of the largest with over 800 members.
The association offers a full complement of services for its membership, including: monthly educational programs, an annual bus tour, annual awards program, annual and mid-year real estate forecasts, spring and fall golf tournaments and legislative representation at the state and local level

NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Properties) is a national association with more than 15,000 members and an extensive network of 54 chapters that represent the interests of developers and owners of industrial, office and related commercial real estate throughout North America. NAIOP provides communication, networking and business opportunities for all real estate related professionals; provides a forum for continuing education; and promotes effective public policy, through its grassroots network, to create, protect and enhance property values.
Members of the 54 NAIOP Chapters have great opportunities at the local level to enhance their business through educational programs, networking and government affairs.
Members can also get involved at the national level by attending conferences for continuing education, participating in National Forums for professional development and working to advance legislative initiatives like real estate taxation issues on Capitol Hill.
